  1. I have been taking two tablets of Aleve (220 mg) one in the morning and one at night for one week and it has completely removed all of my cystic acne and I have not been getting any new ones. I usually would have anywhere from 17-20 cystic pimples and now I only have 2-3. I’ve had acne since I was 12. I am 26. For the past 6 months my acne has been getting worse. Everyone said it was stress and when my school semester was over, my stress level would go down and I would notice the change in my acne. When the semester was over, nothing changed. If anything my acne got worse. It was so bad that at night I would have to start taking Aleve to alleviate the throbbing pain on my face from my acne brushing up against my pillow. As soon as I started doing this, I realized my acne would hurt less and in the mornings, I would have less acne instead of more as I usually would have. Like I said, it has been a week and I have not seen my face as clear as I have it now in years!

    1. Thanks for this information. I’ve been taking generic Ib profen and noticed a small difference. I will def try this! Thanks. I’m 40 and still get cystic acne. Yuk!

  2. It really works for me too! i had this pain in my palvis and my orthodeadic doctor prescribed me with Naproxen. Since taking this, my skin cleared up and after two weeks taking Naproxen, i do not have any acne on my face!

Because I have not got new acne, my acne scars have been cured as well.

I am surprised Naproxen cures acne, in my case.

I wonder if other people experience this effect too.

  3. I was prescribed naproxen for a shoulder injury. A few weeks after the injury I had almost no pimples on my face! I can’t even remember the last time I didn’t have at least several ugly and painful pimples. Recently they’ve all come back. I’ve been wondering what could’ve caused my clear up, I hadn’t had any significant changes in diet, stress, etc. Just this morning I remembered the naproxen I had been taking: soon after I stopped my acne came back. The only conclusion I can draw is that it might have been the naproxen that did it.

I would love to see a study on this.

  4. I have been prescribed Naproxen for a finger injury. I have never suffered with acne, maybe 1 spot a month. Now within 2 days I have over 12 large spots on my chin and lip area. I presume from Naproxen as I am on no other medication. My face is so bad that it is hurting from the swelling

  5. Every time I take Naproxen my face breaks out–today it was my nose and I ended up with a large bruise on my hand that was NOT there until I took Naproxen. I love how it gets rid of pain and inflammation, not loving the teen acne on my face as I am 53. Only take it when I am desperate

    1. I can so relate to your comment.. I’m 55 and I was prescribed naproxen 500mg… For back pain Never have I had acne after college.. Took this and bam I have bumps all over both sides of my face.. Its really like blistered bumps that hurt. Its embarrassing to go out in public, it looks like I’m on some kind of hard drug
